Do I need an Internet connection?
You must have an active connection to the Internet in order to access CyberCoating 2007. Additionally, if you are running behind a firewall, CyberCoating 2007 must be properly configured to run behind a firewall.

How much hard disk space will I need?
The initial install of CyberCoating 2007 will take less than 5MB of space on your hard disk. However, as you travel in the exhibit hall, the objects you encounter are cached to disk for faster loading on your next visit. This can require an additional disk space. We recommend that you have at least 300MB free on your hard disk at all times for best performance.

What is Direct3D Accelerated Mode?
In order to run in Direct3D accelerated mode, CyberCoating 2007 requires at least DirectX 7.0 or later. If you do not have at least DirectX 7.0 on your computer and want to run in Direct3D mode, you should download and install the latest DirectX from Microsoft. OpenGL and software modes do not require DirectX. Good performance in Direct3D and OpenGL modes also requires that you have the latest drivers installed for your 3D video-card.

What is an Avatar?
Avatars are the visual representations of the people who are currently visiting CyberCoating 2007. Wherever you see an avatar, there is another person visiting CyberCoating 2007, just like yourself. Both male and female avatars are available to choose from. Avatars move in a lifelike manner, as they walk around or when they are standing in place. Avatars also typically have one or several gestures they can perform. For example, if you are having trouble getting someone's attention, try waving!

How do I communicate with other people at the show?
Chatting with other people is an important part of the CyberCoating 2007 experience. When you enter the show you will see avatars around you representing other people who are near you. You will also notice that avatars have names above their heads when you get close to them, or after that person has said something while they are in your chat range. When other people talk, what they say will generally also appear above their avatar's head.

How do I talk to other people?
To talk to other people, all you have to do is type your message. What you type appears in the Message box, also known as the Chat Entry box, which is located just below the Chat History. After typing your chat message, pressing the Enter key sends your message. Then you'll see your message appear in the Chat History window, and other people that you are within chat range of will see it also.

Is Voice-Over-IP (VOIP) available?
CyberCoating 2007 is proud to offer our attendees the ability to have Voice-Over-IP (VOIP) at the show. With VOIP enabled, you may begin speaking by hitting the "talk" key (F12 by default).
